Did you guys know that characters in various SMT games have the same names as characters from the novel Frankenstein?
Let's start out with the big one from the Devil Summoner series, Victor. He's a mad scientist that will fuse your demons for you. In Soulless army and King Abaddon he keeps mentioning that he'd like to create an artificial life form. In Soul Hackers he finally does in the form of an android. He's obviously inspired by Victor Frankenstein himself.
Guess what this android's name is! Mary. Mary Shelly wrote the books, so this is an homage to her.
In the Persona series it's Igor that fuses your demons. Igor is of course widely known as being Victor's assistant.
Igor himself has an assistant in Persona 3 named Elizabeth. In the book an orphan named Elizabeth was taken in by the Frankensteins, becomes Victor's wife, and is later killed by the monster.
In Persona 4 Margaret becomes Igor's assistant. She's a reference to Robert's (the guy who finds Victor dying and record's his story) sister whom he writes to.
Just thought this was pretty interesting.
