Fallout New Vegas - Xannidel - 08-26-2012 01:38 PM

So I bought Fallout NV during the steam Summer Sale and finally hit max level and I am currently doing the DLC "Dead Money" I am pretty sure I am near the end of the DLC but now I have a bug where I am constantly losing health for no reason. Has anyone encountered this bug before? I tried exiting the game and reloading the previous save file but that does not help at all.

The red cloud you occasionally run through in Dead Money gives you a toxic effect. Sometimes that effect glitches and never goes away.
The only solution I know of is to reload your game from the beginning of that DLC Sad

This. Yet another reason why I hated New Vegas. Buggy piece of shit it is, regardless of what system you own it on.

I played through the game like 3 times. I enjoyed it for the story, but that's really about it. It's a buggy mess, and it makes me sad that Obsidian developed it and not Bethesda. At least Bethesda knows the engine. It seemed that Obsidian didn't. At all.

Bethesda games are always buggy, it's can ruin a lot of your saves and time.

I remember when I had to go to the Boomers, I went there, and they were still firing upon me, so I found the location on my map, and then fast traveled away, I went back and every time I would get hit constantly, I looked up what is supposed to happen, and a person is meant to talk to me at the gate, this wouldn't happen for me, and I wasted about 40 hours doing other stuff as well as trying again and again to get in because I thought this would be patched, when it wasn't I loaded a older save, and tried it again, and it worked.

So 40 hours wasted due to this.

GAH I spent a good 4 hours in Dead Money...
I DID make a seperate save before entering that DLC but damnit that was a while ago.
Hell I had another glitch in the DLC where you had to escort God/Dog to the switches and when you enter that main door from the fountain it would crash when in the loading screen.

I've heard good things about it, but I've never played it. Or any Fallout game. I'll probably pick one up for my PS3 sometime.

Love this game.
Tip: Always work on Speech and Barter first, if you're not gonna have loads of fighting power, Speech gets you out of trouble and some very good quests and friends, and Barter gets them precious things you need to pry off people.

Yeah, soon after I started Bethesda games, I learnt to create a new save each time. It's saved many a tear.
Makes huge save folders though

I do normally make a lot of save files and I made one before entering the casino for the first time so I will not have to backtrack TOO far back IMO.

And there's so much bloody dialog that you'll zip by the part you've already done in no time

If i can remember the right convos to ask to give me more speech bonuses and what not because I was almost at 50 by the end.
