I propose to allow user avatars to be bigger than 10 Kb. This would make the forum more attractive to new users who want to put a .gif avatar.

They take up bandwith. And since I believe this is a free forum (unless it isn't, then yeah...) and you only have a limit to how much bandwith you can use (IIRC). Heck, it might be like that even if this is a paid forum.

This forum is hosted by a friend of mine. I've purposely edited all the images to be as small as possible and set all the attachment limits as low as possible. This isn't something I'm willing to do, not right now at least.
