Nuzlockes: Allow me to explain to those who don't know what they are.

A Nuzlocke is basically when you play Pokemon, but if your Pokémon faints, it's dead and must be boxed, PERMANENTLY. The second key rule is that you can only catch the first Pokémon you see per route.
The 3rd and final key rule is that each Pokémon must be given a nickname.
Many people add variations, such as limited healing, no items, etc.
It also has many varieties, such as a storylocke, which the 'locke is shared online with a separate storyline as the game, comiclocke, the one I'm currently doing, in which the 'locke is shared in a comic, randomlocke, wherein the first Pokémon encountered is completely random and can be any Pokémon that existed in that time, etc.

I've completed one (Pokémon Blue) and am working on Diamond version.

I completed Blue with only 2 deaths, both, ironically, occuring in the Lavender Tower.

In my Diamond, I've experienced 3 so far, yet in the comic its only two. I achieved this because in-game, my Floatzel died, but I immediately found two more. Two deaths have been attributed to a self-destructing Geodude and an exploding Graveler.

Have you done any, and if not, do you plan on?

You're only going to have like, 16 Pokémon. Depending on game. Most of them you kill before catching them.

I may try this if I decide to get Black/White 2.
It'll add a bit of spice to the game Smile

Attempted one. Finished one. Quite recently, completed a Red Nuzlocke. Ended with a Snorlax, Dragonite and Golbat. Hope to do another with second gen sometime soon.

RE: Nuzlockes - DarkNerd - 08-23-2012 06:07 PM

Oh, for Red and Blue, I highly recommend using a Jolteon in your Nuzlockes. It's capable of learning Pin Missile, an actually good bug type move, thus turning the game breaking Psychics into spinless wimps. I had one, along with a Blastoise, Kadabra, Fearow, Dugtrio, and something else I forgot. I didn't use them all. Only a few.

I tried one, Pokémon kept on dying most of the time, restarted it a lot.

It's more fun to do this with random Pokémon encounters.

RE: Nuzlockes - BumblebeeCody - 08-24-2012 03:18 AM

I've seen a few people on YouTube doing these and it is pretty interesting. But I think it requires a lot of the knowledge of the game your going to Nuzlocke so you can anticipate what Gyms are ahead.

RE: Nuzlockes - DarkNerd - 08-25-2012 12:38 PM

True, but I'm planning on doing one on B/W 2 asap, without knowing the orders of the gyms. I expect great number of deaths.
Also, going up against 8th gym in Diamond Nuzlocke. Strongest 2:
lv. 57 Luxray, Fang.
lv. 47 Roserade, Sam.
Not gonna be easy, need to grind. Teehee. Grind.

RE: Nuzlockes - Kai - 08-26-2012 06:30 PM

I nearly finished a Nuzlocke in Platinum until my efforts peaked in an epic battle with Cynthia. I tried one in Heartgold but it seemed harder so I quit halfway.
