Rayman Trivia - Liraxus - 08-11-2012 12:18 PM Did you know that Rayman was originally going to be on the SNES? This was an article from PiX'n Love, a french retro magazine including 3 screenshots from SNES beta, and even an interview with Michael Ancel about the project. Rayman originally had limbs but were cut due to technical limitations. An Atari Jaguar prototype of Rayman exists on the web, holding alot of cut content, like Rayman doing a handstand! Rayman 2 was originally going to be in 2D! There was indeed going to be a Rayman 4! There is alot of early concept art, most of it depicting original Rayman locals like Band land and Candy Chateau(Now Candy Ltd.), and a few new ones, quite a shame it was replaced with some stupid bunnies! The game also featured a mysterious character called Dark Rayman...who's probably just Bad Rayman from the original. Rayman 4 also had a gimmick of changing into different versions of Rayman to achieve different powers. Band Land concept art Candy Ltd. concept art Picture City caverns concept art The Lair of Dark Rayman concept art Rayman forms concept art Heres a weird little tidbit, according to concept art and a confirmation by the Rayman 2 site, Rayman has a love interest for Ly. Yes, this is concept art. This one is also real concept art... Ok, i can go on and on about my knowledge of Rayman, but i'm going to stop here, i hope you guys like these. Despite being in the later stages of development, the game was stopped in its tracks to priviledge the CD format. Here, we have some exclusive pictures of this aborted version.
