RE: Wii-U - zinja - 09-14-2012 10:15 AM I don't know why but for some reason I'm still not completely sure if I should buy this.... I'll stick to waiting for a positive response and overall good experience from people who buy it. I can wait. But if at least one good game comes out that I would kill to play, guess who'll be having a brand new spanking Wii U. I've yet to hear the bitching, but I'm not surprised by it. I figure people think Nintendo should be cheap, since the Wii was, and most people don't give two shits that the system is on the level of the 360/PS3 in terms of what it can do. Personally I think the price is fine. I'll be picking up a 32GB, with AC3, BLOPS 2, Mario U, and a few other titles for my kids. I don't mind investing in the new system, considering they've given me plenty of reasons to do so. I'm excited. Just to put to rest fears anyone had of needing to buy a second Gamepad, Nintendo is not only not pushing out games that need two Gamepads, they won't even be selling them separately until needed. RE: Wii-U - Gardocki - 09-14-2012 01:57 PM I'm really looking forward to Lego City Undercover. I love the Lego games, and this Lego/GTA hybrid seems perfect for me. Who am I gonna share things with RE: Wii-U - retrolinkx - 09-15-2012 12:08 AM I can't comprehend how anyone is getting pissed at the price. I remember watching that years E3 and hearing the price tag and going "there's no fucking way people will buy it". Only took 'em what, five years, eight different model types and six price drops to get sales going. Congrats to Sony though, the last horse finally crossed the finish line. All things considered, it's a very fair price for the WiiU. I was expecting 400 or more. RE: Wii-U - DidYouKnowGaming - 09-15-2012 06:06 AM Apparently the basic model is £199 in the UK. That's only £20 more than what the Wii launched at. You could say the Wii launched with a game so it was a better deal etc, but I think considering there's a touchscreen controller in there, that's a pretty damn fine price point. Edit: Apparently the retailers just got it wrong and it's £250. Welp. Even with that, they're still hemorrhaging money, and then with the Vita being outsold by the 3DS ten times over. Yeah without a doubt. I remember reading a few years back that Sony loses a few hundred bucks with each PS3 sold. I'm not certain if it's true, but it doesn't surprise me if it's true. As for the 3DS, I question how well it'd be doing now without the quick price drop. RE: Wii-U - retrolinkx - 09-16-2012 09:30 AM Also I'd like to add one thing. >Bayonetta comes out in 2010 >A lot of people buy it and love the game (mostly due to Bayonetta) >Anticipating a sequel >Sega being Sega say no >Everyone pouting and having an outrage for a while >It dies down >Nintendo fund them to make a Bayonetta 2 >All the funs are getting buttdevestated and complaining about it not being on a "real console" I don't get the world sometimes, I could understand if it was Half Life 3 or something, but come on, if they funded it, what do you expect? These people are worse than PC gamers demanding for a console port, then getting pissed because it's a console port. Retrolinkx, you're going to have to explain to me what all this usage of ">" means. It seems like some sort of narrative or referencial device, but I can't quite hit the nail on the head. On topic - I agree with your point completely. Some gamers are way too entitled and don't seem to accept the fact that not everything is going to go their way RE: Wii-U - Zaliphone - 09-16-2012 09:38 AM Yeah, too many gamers are just entitled pricks who sit atop their imaginary high-horse and do nothing but play away and complain. I've never played Bayonetta, but I might get Bayonetta 2, it doesn't look that bad. It's like making little dots next to them. It's the same thing, just the way of doing it. |
