Tbh anime's are cartoons
it even means animation. The only supposed difference is where it is made wich isn't rly a difference at all. If you make pasta in America it is still pasta.

Im of the oppinion that after the end of the 90ties , anime just somehow went downhill. (could be that im just old)

so my favorites are all pre-2000:

1: Legend of the Galactic heros
best of all times imo.

2: Neon Genesis Evangelion
(ignore the movies and the current horrible remake please)

3: Trigun
great series with a great manga.

I have seen a few and this is how I would rank it

Code Geass>>>FMA Brotherhood>Death Note(End sucked though)>FMA>Naruto>Case Closed>Ouran HSHC>>>>>>Dragon Ball Z>Dragon Ball

I am in the middle of Naruto (Episode 120ish), seen about 3 episodes of Clannad and 2 episodes of Gundam

its really pretty good , a little bit obfuscating at times but definatly ok. has a great opening theme too.

why anyone would like elfenlied tho is beyond me.

I guess the same way why a grown man would be comfortable saying he likes Ouran High Host Club. I got teased be a lot of my friends in high school when I told them that lol.

But Ouran High Host Club is actually good, Elfenlied is a badly written incoherent mess.

I find most animes nowadays to be extremely poor, but you get the odd few that stick out. Onepiece is OK. Death Note was smart. Afro Samurai is a master piece but everything else is generally turd. The old stuff is were the gold is. Dragonball/Z/GT, Outlaw Star, Medabots, Pokemon, Ultimate Muscle, Gundam...t'is all I can think of right now
