RE: Collaberate on a game? - DHXIII - 07-04-2012 01:20 AM This sounds pretty awesome! If we do the whole genre jumping thing I claim the platforming level RE: Collaberate on a game? - SERIOUSLY THOUGH - 07-04-2012 01:35 AM (07-04-2012 01:08 AM)damerdar Wrote: Well my vote is obviously in. Can anybody come up with a gripping, awesome story involving all the above? Someone lost in an alternate dimension/reality wherein reside the different video games when they're not being played ? Humans aren't allowed in, so everything becomes hostile and the protagonist must escape back to his/her dimension/reality That way, we can tie in all the different genres, art styles, music, etc. RE: Collaberate on a game? - Nicknclank - 07-04-2012 01:41 AM Ok, I got the story ^_^ It starts off with a guy in front of his computer (he looks young and cute). He just finished a really cool drawing with an art program, and he intends to close the folder after saving his stuff. But, as he is about to close his computer, a hacker (dressed as a burglar with black/white stripes and a black hat) comes out of a web browser (Internet Explorer or Google Chrome) and takes the drawing folder. He then goes back to the web browser and disappears. The kid, who is freaking out a little, builds a big machine very fast and connects it to the computer. He then goes IN his computer (kind of like Timmy Turner did in a show called "Fairly Odd Parents") and follows the burglar. As he chases down the evil man (again, like in the show), the burglar goes into a webpage and the kid follows him. He ended up in a webpage about nature. But he has no time looking around, he must catch the burglar... NOW, this is where it gets cool. Depending on which webpage he goes to, it can be a different of game. For instance, the "Jungle" webpage can be a platform-kind of thing. If he goes to an other webpage, like Space for example, it can be one of those Space Shooters kind of game. Plus, different artists can make different webpages ^_^. What do you think so far? RE: Collaberate on a game? - tokki - 07-04-2012 02:21 AM If that burglar used internet explorer I think he'd actually get away with his stuff lol! also it reminds me of Comix Zone, which was like my favorite game on the genesis, more than sonic 2 or golden axe mannnn. RE: Collaberate on a game? - Rezerp - 07-04-2012 02:25 AM Can I test it? RE: Collaberate on a game? - DHXIII - 07-04-2012 02:47 AM Since it's a community project - I imagine this will be tested by anyone who is a member. An RPG? A platformer? An RPG platformer? We have got to choose! I'd give all my money to whoever did that well. That would be exactly $2.94 RE: Collaberate on a game? - Equinox - 07-04-2012 03:11 AM (07-03-2012 10:33 PM)SERIOUSLY THOUGH Wrote:(07-03-2012 10:24 PM)DHXIII Wrote:(07-03-2012 10:20 PM)tokki Wrote: I'm... an artist too? What if it's like members from the site travelling through different game universes? EDIT: I feel really dumb now, because I posted this BEFORE I read everything that was said about the project. But at least now we know that you're up for the same train of though as the rest of us Let's get the ball rolling and work out the bigger aspects of the project rather than straight away deciding who will do what for what level etc. We need 1. Story 2. Platform to develop the game 3. People on-board, listing their competences (relevant to what the game-making platform can cater for) 4. Various game genres that would happen during the levels RE: Collaberate on a game? - Nicknclank - 07-04-2012 03:26 AM (07-04-2012 03:11 AM)Equinox Wrote:(07-03-2012 10:33 PM)SERIOUSLY THOUGH Wrote:(07-03-2012 10:24 PM)DHXIII Wrote:(07-03-2012 10:20 PM)tokki Wrote: I'm... an artist too? It's ok, at least you read the story I made RE: Collaberate on a game? - Rezerp - 07-04-2012 03:32 AM Can I be the main character? Each character would have different hobbies and interests, which would translate to different bonuses when they are in certain genres. Even though I did say something about having all of us be characters, I think the only fair way to do it is to have a made up character so that someone doesn't feel left out.
