RE: Zelda Did You Knows? - DidYouKnowGaming - 11-21-2012 09:46 AM Isn't a part of the lore of Zelda that the Master Sword is always in the same location? RE: Zelda Did You Knows? - retrolinkx - 11-22-2012 02:04 AM ^ I believe so. It's either in the Temple of Time, a Forest, or a destroyed Temple of Time in a Forest, any other sword doesn't match up, such as the Four Sword. RE: Zelda Did You Knows? - Darkfenian - 11-22-2012 12:50 PM I'm not sure about the Master Sword but it could be true. Doing this mapping has lead to a few more questions. 1. If the maps are true then there is another half of Hyrule in Zelda 1 that we do not see in L2P or OOT. They could be the places where Oracle of ages and Seasons were taken place. 2. Could Koholint Island from Link's awakening be the Island palace in Zelda 2? Assuming that the island did exist. 3. Could the maps of Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks match up with the Zelda 2 map? Maybe around the town of Nabooru or New Hyrule? 4. The Lost woods don't match up but then again they are the LOST woods. RE: Zelda Did You Knows? - Moriatti - 12-05-2012 02:37 AM I can debunk 2 for you, since Koholint doesn't exist except in dreams. It is possible to escape Kohlint, but escape is what it is. Gonna repeat myself on Wart appearing in both Koholint and Subcon, since that links the Zelda/Mario canon a bit more IMO. Both of them being connected only through an unstable set of dream realms also resolves some of the apparent timeline issues between the two. (Though, I'll admit, I've always chalked it up to Mario having a very loose canon.) It was in the re-release for the GBA that the "Wise Men" was re-translated as "Sages" and after that the Hyrule Historia Timeline seems to imply that these are the same seven sages from Ocarina of Time (Saria, Darunia, Ruto, Impa, Nabooru, Rauru and Zelda) However, the image below is from the original release in 1991. If you notice, on of the sages is shorter than the rest. I have thought that it is possible that this one is kneeling but it doesn't really look like it. After all, the staff is still completely straight and shorter than the rest. It seems like this one is supposed to be Saria and even if it wasn't intended is an eerie sort of coincidence. Just thought I'd share RE: Zelda Did You Knows? - Ginkaze - 12-20-2012 05:09 AM Okay then... Nobuyuki Hiyama, who gave Link his Voice in "Ocarina Of Time" and "Majora's Mask", also dubbed the character Cain in the "Fire Emblem"-Anime in 1996 and used the same shouts for him as for Link - 2 years before OOT was released. go to 11:40 RE: Zelda Did You Knows? - Chrono_blazer - 12-20-2012 07:31 AM I can perfectly picture the guy doing the video. I know it requires you to continue off the other game Also Ganon doesn't flood the world, the Gods do. This is most likely done by Nayru, specifically RE: Zelda Did You Knows? - gmanownyou - 12-25-2012 07:10 AM Since this is my first one, it's probably gonna suck. In The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker, there is a tribe of creatures called the Koroks. The Great Deku Tree explains that the Koroks used to take a human form before the flood. Since The Great Sea is just Hyrule flooded and if the Koroks lived near The Great Deku Tree, that means the Koroks were the Kokiri kids from Ocarina Of Time. [attachment=202] RE: Zelda Did You Knows? - Chrono_blazer - 01-09-2013 10:28 AM In Ocarina of Time, a guard can be found dying in the alleyway of Castle Town after Ganondorf chases Zelda and Impa. He tells you she was looking for you then passes away RE: Zelda Did You Knows? - Psychospacecow - 01-26-2013 01:55 PM (12-25-2012 07:10 AM)gmanownyou Wrote: Since this is my first one, it's probably gonna suck. I'm kind of new to the forums (I was a lurker, but only because I didn't know any interesting things yet), but I found a small thing related to Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins in Link's Awakening. The sound effect used for the Sea Lily's Bell is actually the same sound effect used when you select a stage in the overworld for Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins. The sound used in Link's Awakening is more metallic sounding, to resemble the sound of a bell, and the song itself is the sound effect played twice at it's normal speed and once more at a slower tempo. You are gonna poop your pants when I mention that the bird people are also the Zoras! Why they "evolved" to become airborne when it seems like being water-based would have had it's biggest advantage ever is beyond me, though. RE: Zelda Did You Knows? - ssbawesome - 02-06-2013 10:23 AM Ocarina of Time: In early builds of the game, Medallion worked differently. Medallions can be seen equipped in various early screenshots. Several early screenshots depict Link with the Forest Medallion (then known as the Wind Medallion) equipped, as the Medallions were the original method of warping through Hyrule instead of using the Ocarina of Time. Majora’s Mask: A mask resembling Adult Link from Ocarina of Time was to make an appearance. It is speculated that its effects were to transform Young Link into Adult Link, but was replaced with the Fierce Deity's Mask. The model for the Unicorn Fountain, the elusive Fairy Fountain in Ocarina of Time, exists within the cartridge data. It boasts a unicorn instead of a Great Fairy. The game was originally named Zelda: Gaiden, which translates into English as "Zelda: Side Story" The Megaton Hammer was another item replaced. Before punching with Goron Link was introduced, Nintendo planned Goron Link to use the Megaton Hammer. The Hammer can be seen in early pictures. Wind Waker: An older form of Link was sketched, but never modeled. Link was to physically grow during the course of the game (at a more subtle rate than in Ocarina of Time, but implementing this idea was too difficult, so it was scrapped. Link's clothes were to have the same color scheme as his clothes from the original The Legend of Zelda. This was only changed to the final color scheme late into development. A mysterious item, marked only by Japanese text translating to "Water Boots", can be loaded and used through hacking. However, no model appears, and the animation for putting the boots on and off is the same for putting the Iron Boots on and off, leading to the possibility that the Water Boots were, in fact, Iron Boots with different functionalities, such as sinking into water (as evidenced by the item name). Concept art of two islands that were never included in the game was included in Hyrule Historia. Stovepipe Island was intended to be a volcanic "island of steam and smoke", with a hot spring lake and magma valley, and Link would potentially enter through the volcano's crater. GC Island was intended to resemble a Nintendo GameCube; this concept was later used in the game's direct sequel—Phantom Hourglass—with Dee Ess Island. Minish Cap: A fully-functioning Level Editor item can be loaded through hacking. Strangely, the Level Editor uses the icon for the Fire Rod. With the Level Editor, one can modify the various landscapes within the game; however, changes cannot be saved Pictures can be found here: Source: http://zeldawiki.org/Beta_Content RE: Zelda Did You Knows? - KnowledgeBase - 02-17-2013 12:35 PM Watching the recent DYK video, I'm not sure if it's too late to talk about the subject of the Fire Temple controversy but I thought I might just post this information. Whilst it's widely believed that the removal of the chant in the theme of the Fire Temple in Ocarina of Time was due to controversy, the truth is that the real reason behind this change still remains unclear. Online gaming show Pop Fiction recently discovered in an episode covering the issue that the change made to both the Gold Limited Edition and Standard versions of the original release of the game was done before the game was ever released. This meant that nobody would've known the chant was in the game until it was in stores and that possibily Nintendo altered it in fear that it could've caused some controversy. Using the crooked cartridge trick to access the game's debug menu, they found that the game's completition for each region was made before it was released anywhere. What's even more revelating is that the chant didn't even first appear in OoT. In the N64 version of Cruis'n World, released 2 months before OoT, the same chant can be heard in the theme of the course Cairo Cruis'n. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Spf3MnT-OiQ&feature=player_detailpage#t=50s Later again the same chant could be heard in the 2002 Xbox game Kakuto Chojin: Back Alley Brutal in the song entitled "Love-Hate Chant" which was probably why the game was recalled and has since never been rereleased, however that also remains unclear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WU1SLwUDDw In a response from Nintendo of America to Pop Fiction in regards to the source of the chant, it was revealed that they had never created it and it was used from a library of commercial sound clips.
