Yeah, I hate it with both the sexes do this, I expressed my hate for GRRRL gamers previously, but damn, both of these are bad.

You are not hip because you have one blue and one orange earring. Your DIY Aperture Science table looks like the result of a cripple convention at The Home Depot. Your new companion cube shirt makes you look like a fucking choad. The Sandvich action figure you have on your PC instantly devalues it by a hundred bucks. The Blu neon sign hanging in your garage is an insult to Thomas Edison and the people who discovered neon. "MEDIC" is not funny, and when you need an ambulance I hope it doesn't come. You are not trendy because you are wearing a headcrab hat. Yes, we all know that the Half Life zombies are speaking backwards. Everybody is aware that Gaben is overweight.
Simply put, if you think you're a special flower because you just love Valve and everything they do, then you're a retard.
With that said I must say I agree with the sentiments expressed specifically about the Sonic and MLP communities. Even though I've got a MLP avatar I don't belong to any brony communities. Bronies are fucking creepy online. The amount of R34 that exists for MLP has far, FAR, exceeded the standard amount expected for a given franchise. It's unsettling. And Sonic fantards are just that, tards. Good lord. I used to be a moderator at a couple of Sonic communities and it was a NIGHTMARE of drama and fat nerds sperging about what characters were the sexiest.
Also amen not just to the CoD fanbase, but any modern FPS.

The people who shout the cake meme and the space meme aren't valve fans, those are scum who saw Portal 2 at E3 in 2010 and thought "OMG ORTINGANL DESIGN MUST PLAY TOPTLLY AWESOME" and never played the first game, and then made the Portal Community turn to shit, then the TF2 community went to shit with the F2P, all Valve have now is Half Life and Left 4 Dead, once they show off Half Life 3 and Left 4 Dead 3 at E3 both of those will turn to shit, and Valve will have a terrible fanbase.

One of my friends absolutely LOVES sonic. And he absolutely abandoned the Sonic boards on GameFAQ's because of how bad they are.

That was still people who didn't know what "The cake is a lie" meant, granted Valve fans said it a lot and then made them say it, but even before Portal 2 came out, these same people would say this stuff without knowing it came from Portal, or what Portal is.
Believe me ask any actual Valve fan about these memes, they'd disregard them in a second saying that it's cancer.
Also I may seem like I'm defending Valve, but I'm not, it's just this thing I hate when people generalize about Portal fans, because I love Portal a lot, but I don't say anything from Portal like that unlike other people.

Oh I know. Bethesda hates the 'arrow in the knee' BS too. People who make games are hardly of the same intellectual capacity as mouthbreathers who latch onto games and suck them dry. To the developers something like arrows or cakes is just a funny one-off line that they think would lighten up the game, but to people who don't know any better that single quote is an entire goddamned lifestyle just about.

The thing that I hate the most now is the fact that IF I quote something... "mainstream" from a videogame, everybody will be all like "UGGH, stop SAYING that, it's getting SOOOO boring, everybody says it all the time!" If I'm perfectly honest, I hate all fanbases. Any bunch of fans that are passionate enough to be annoyed at me for not being one of them. Comic fans, "hardcore gamers", literary spods... any fanbase which is exclusive rather than inclusive.
