If we are going with the old generation, I would have to say the PS1 and N64. I grew up on that and the games I had were really fun.

If we are going with current generation, I would say the PC. If you have upgraded your software and hardware well, the PC can be the ultimate gaming experience. Maxed out graphics, the large community, its like playing on the Xbox and a PS3 combined.

SNES and N64 are my all-time favortites/most played

The best console of all time you ask, I'd have to say the PS2 while I never really owned one and don't own a PS3 because I personally think they're crap I feel the PS2 got the console experience right with tons of great games and the ability to play games from the previous console with backwards compatibility and a tight control scheme it just felt so complete every time I played one. Now for the current generation I'd have to say the Xbox 360 because of basically the same reasons for the PS2, it just feels like the most complete of the current generation while it has it's flaws it has a lot of great exclusive games and it picked up backwards compatibility from the PS2 so I can still play the old Xbox games if I feel so, but the PS2 did it first and it did it in what I feel were the last days of the golden age for gaming it had so much more to offer when compared to other consoles of that generation.

I also like the Wii because of the fact it's a great game to play with other people. I like the Xbox because of the awesome online experience. See? Everything is great with the consoles ^_^

Plus, each consoles has it's own type of game, like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Gears Of War or Ratchet and Clank!
I agree!

Wii is great to play with friends and family alike, especially with games like Wii Sports or Wii Play. Those are great multiplayer games, plus they get you moving. Xbox 360 is awesome because of the online community and Halo series, and the PS3 is great because of the hardware, free online, and Twisted Metal. I think all consoles have their strengths and weaknesses but it is all pretty even.

If we are talking about the one with the best graphics i'm gonna go with the PS3

HOWEVER! If we are talking about the best console overall.. I'm definately gonna say the Wii. In my opinion Nintendo just delivers better games. Theres only so many good games on the PS and Xbox.. But for the Wii you have 90% of Nintendos own games that are really good.

For this generation, PS3, simply for the more Stable factor. I have all 3 consoles, I enjoy all of them. However with the failure rating of the 360, I award the PS3 as the better console.
If I had to chose the best console ever? I would pick the SNES and PS1 like "GothNight" did.

Well in opinion, there could be, which is why I wanted to see what everyone thought.

PC isn't a console, but it is the best IMO.
Why?
Because you can use PS3/Xbox 360 controllers on PC with Xpadder. (not free)
Also has free multiplayer.
And the list goes on and on.

Just so you know you don't even need Xpadder I have a free program from Microsoft that is supposed to be used for their controllers that works just fine for a PS3 controller. Smile

And you also dont need Xpadder much more these days. With more and more games supporting the 360 controller, xpadder is almost unneeded

Well, I guess The Dreamcast was a pretty solid console, it had it's short run, but it was the best console out there for a while, the PS2 only got the upper hand because of it's DVD player, and that was it, it never really got many games until after 2000.

Best Handheld was probably the Game Boy Advance, most of those games ever Snes level or above, and I could pick out more than 50 games that are gems and classics, many of the ports/remakes were good too.
