Hope I'm not breaking any rules here but since these games were released in NA today I thought I'd revive the thread.
Bought them this morning. Pretty awesome so far. Decided I would try a Nuzlocke from the get-go but then my Tepig fainted so that didn't last long.

The music in the game is terrific. I love the Aspeirta City music, and some of the other remixes they've done.
The game feels like it balances the linear aspect pretty good.
I'm up to the third gym and I'd say the game is really good so far.

This will actually be the first time I don't cave in and just buy the game. Finally I've been disappointed enough times to learn my lesson.
I hope that those of you who are going to pick it up have fun, though. I hate that I'm such a geezer about games and prefer that the stay more or less the same in order to enjoy them ><

Also, I'm not caving either, I just don't feel like buying a new DS game at this point in the console's life cycle, and i don't think the new features are quite enough to warrant a purchase. I sort of wish that Nintendo would get off the ol' Dial Up modem and just offer upgrades as sort of DLC or something.
Oh, and Hexadecimal, I'm with you there. For me, the thing is that all of the new online features are sort of counteracting what made them fun in the first place, as well as making it way too easy to catch 'em all.
Oh, and over 40 legendaries is not cool.

I bought Pokemon Black 2 today. It's been 4/5 years since I've played Pokemon seriously but I can see myself getting back into this. Once I get through the game, I'm going to get back into EV training. I forgot how to EV train and I made a YouTube guide on it.
This game though...awesome

Did you play Black or White? The way the story continues is really cool. Almost like a second perspective of the games.

Nope. Couldn't be bothered then. I had to take a break from Pokemon after D/P. Currently stuck right now though, have any links to B/W tier lists (Smogon, Serebii?) that show a list for EVERY Pokemon? I'm picking up a few Pokemon for post game while I'm playing through the story.

I'm not really sure Serebii maintains a tiering system/list. However, Smogon only lists not fully evolved pokemon if they actually fit a tier or little cup, iirc. So you might not find every single pokemon tiered. But still, here is the tier list.

I don't know very much about the new games competitive wise because of how little I've battled in 5th Gen altogether. As for the changes, you can't set your Pokemon to level 100 anymore on Wi-fi. Also you get to see your opponent's party before the battle starts for some reason. One of the reasons I've barely battled is because I've only been able to raise one team to level 100.
