Johto, it was like adding alot more amazing Pokemon to the game. Plus you can go back to Kanto and challenge other gyms, so It was more fun.

honestly imma say 5th gen because it's the only one whose storyline kept me interested the whole game. yeah a lot of the pokemon were completely shitty, but it takes some getting used to. when i think of what gen i like the most, i think of if it's replayable to me or not. 4th and 3rd are completely out of the question; it's just too boring more than once. i think my second favorite would end up being 2nd.

kanto, obviously. the original and the best. gen II comes a close second though, G/S/C were better games than R/B/Y but the pokemon aren't as good.

Kanto for sure. I grew up with that game since Red, Yellow, and Blue like a lot of others. Charmeleon has always been my favorite Pokemon... I would never evolve him to Charizard just because he was so awesome.

I grew up with the first but with every new gen came new innovations, i think everyone was an upgrade nearly so my but they were all great (even 5 was pretty good imo). I think the 4th is my favorite because thats when i got the age i played really seriously so i spent the most time in sinnoh.

Generation 2 has always been, by far, my favorite. Not just the pokemon, but the games as well. Pokemon Crystal forever, bros. haha

i stopped playing them ages ago but recently picked up a few on ebay to try again. from what i remember, the jump from red/blue to gold/silver was awesome, and at the time i loved red/blue

The games? Gen 1 & 2 Equal, I mean Blue, Red, Silver, Gold were amazing. But for pokemons, The First Gen ALL THE WAY!

Well, mine is gen 4 becuase it was the first Pokémon game I picked up and I enjoyed it quite alot.
In second place comes gen 3 even though all my favorite Pokémon comes from that gen I couldn't come to finish the game, it didn't really catch my attention.

I Think Johto was the one.
You had a nice gameplay, with a lot of new attractive things (like the radio, the 'jumping' legendaries, berries, new pokeballs, etc), introduced some battle modes that later were improved (battle tower for example), and new pokemons that really looked like pokemons from the 1st gen.
And like the most players of R/B/Y, i was pretty tired of playing the same thing over and over again on Kanto, and with the improved levels of those leaders, i enjoyed playing the 1st gen again
