Skies of Arcadia in HD 1080p looks amazing to me today.

I've always loved any game with a long viewing distance.
I've spent many a gaming hours just looking at the distance and wondering what's out there...
Oh another game that I thought was beautiful was Dear Esther on Steam (no not the old HL2 mod but the newer one)
The game is just you walking around and there are just so many places that look so beautiful. The people who made this are also making on another game with more interactivity which I hope will not mean that the graphics and stuff get neglected.

Personally anything on the Half-life engine would never look as beautiful as the art in games like Okami and El Shaddai. It's good looking sure but...eh...

It is? I've played some games purely because they looked so good.

I think it makes more sense to say "Playing a game for the graphics is like watching a movie for the special effects".Undecided

It is not on the Half Life engine anymore, check it out and tell me these graphics are not sexy.

Oh, can't believe I forgot Muramasa: The Demon Blade

One of my favorite Wii games, plus it looks gorgeous

Wow. Nice dude. Love it. The first cave part reminds me of Gears of War 2

@Muramasa: The Demon Blade
My friend has it on his Dolphin Emulator. 1080 ultra high quality. Ahhhh. Soooo good. I hate the Wii hardware so much. Those games deserve so much love!

Ah, that sounds like it'd look fantastic @____@
Also many of the environments in Grandia 3 were really pretty for a PS2 JRPG, the game was also really awesome but fuck that Melc Crystal. To anyone who has played Grandia 3 really far in will know EXACTLY what I am talking about.
My favorite according to the list of categories include, Need for Speed, CoD, Final Fantasy, Left for Dead, Resident Evil and FEAR. They include great music, excellent resolution, horror, suspense and adventure among themselves.

Are you me?

>Get a new monitor
>Play Fallout 3 on it
>Get out of the Vault
>Stand there for 10 minutes looking at the distance.

I think my love of things far away came from the fact I've lived on the 8th floor on my flat for 16 years.

Yeah, it's strange how what we can't immediately reach is often so much more interesting than what's around us.
I'm used to seeing far away mountains with tiny, tiny villages I don't know, so that's probably where it comes from for me Smile
