I was just on a TF2 server with 4 guys named Rainbow dash... is anybody else sick of people choosing ridiculously over used usernames?
And no, I'm not hating on Bronies or anything, I honestly don't care what you choose to watch, just the stupid...fragging...usernames.

I also hate names like "yourself" and "your dog", because then it writes "You killed Yourself" and the kiddies think they're witty.
I say ban them, ban them all under the constitutional that "stupid names = gtfo" (1846 amendment)

Anyhow, original names are not something people come up with everyday, I mean my steam name Stusbu came from a Captcha, but I agree, if you can't think of a name, look in a dictionary for one, I doubt "Spoffish" is taken.

And if all fails, 2 words put together are decent.

When I made up my username, which is my universal username, I just took the word xylophone and changed the spelling and pronunciation a bit. It's fairly original, and wasn't hard at all to come up with.

My first nickname in the internet was as cliché as Assassin. But I was just a retarded 10 years-older by then. I took Sirion from the main river in Beleriand from the book The Silmarillion. Maybe not quite original or criative, but it usually works. I don't see other people using it and it's not something you can imediately relate to.
I've had trouble signing up in some sites with that name, though. When I tried to create my character in Lord of the Rings Online, it was hell to get something ressembling Sirion that wasn't already taken. Obviously someone already had taken that name. Or the game blocked it because it was a location name (even if it didn't exist long before The Lord of the Rings).

Anyway, what I usually see, at least among my steam friends, is fooling around with their own nicknames. It's often funny and creative. But I saw once a guy in TF2 stealing my friend's "nickname", that was actually his family name.

I made the name up for Xbox Live. I'll break my name down, Spartan comes From the movie 300. Cats came from me loving cats. The z is just for looks, like adding X but only cooler.

My name came from my head, I made him up like 5 years ago and this is my online handle and I find that it is somewhat original.
