I loved Crysis 2, everyone hated because of it being linear, consolized etc.

But I thought it was great, I was really shocked at
, it was really fun to, the suit abilities were good, but after playing the first one, I see why they people hated it since it was downgraded to Stealth and Armor.

I loved Halo, the entire series, I loved it so much I'm pretty much a pro at it, since I played the multiplayer every day in 2009, I think the story, atmosphere, music and the stages were amazing, as well as the long backstory of everything in the game which I read up on. Halo 4 doesn't look interesting, but I'll still get it.

MW2. No I hate CoD, but I found MW2 to be decent at best, they tried to make a story, the multiplayer was decent at best, since the community has been letting it down, and spec ops was an interesting change, but it was better than Black Ops, and MW3 by far.

Metal Gear Solid 2. Everyone hated it because "no skane why? who raidin waah kojima y u do dis ton me" but I thought it was great, Raiden played like Snake, Snake was even in the game to help you, that's pretty good too, the tanker was also a great environment, the music was good, and the boss battles were nice as well, and even I didn't play MGS1 first, but I could still pick things up while playing, it wasn't that confusing.

Probably Sonic '06. I wouldn't say love, it's the worst Sonic game sure but I never experienced any of the glitches and I completely ignored the bestiality story. I didn't take the game too seriously(switched my brain off) and it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be.

I agree with you on MW2 and MGS2.
Doesn't MW2 and Halo get a lot of praise though? They are wildly popular so I don't see how they fit in this thread.
Final Fantasy XIII
I may not be close to beating it but I do find the story to be pretty good even if the characters are somewhat annoying in their own way but there will always be THAT character, you know, the character that pisses you off due to annoying features/voice actor.
The combat is also a little different then what I am used to (The last Final Fantasy game I really played was X) and I do also like the level up system and how you can make up new classes for the members of your team.

To me is Final Fantasy:Mystic Quest for SNES,every
fan of Final Fantasy say this game is a real sh*t,however
he was the only FF to show physical damage in enemies
what make me like him so much.
Not so much a game that everyone hates, but a console that everyone hates:

I am unapologetic when declaring my love for the Sega CD. How can people hate a console that gave us Snatcher, Vay, and Earthworm Jim: Special Edition? Panic! was weird but fun, Final Fight CD was the best FF port at the time, and those FMV games were hilariously awful. It's not my favorite console, but it's really not as bad as people say it is! People you play with who will also subsequently no longer speak to you Big Grin

Mine is more of a gameplay preference - I love games with a good story that you can just play through without having to repeat something ad vitam eternam just to get through a segment. I don't like having to repeat the same segment of story because the game is so damn tough Cool

That's why I was dissapointed with Soul Calibur IV compared to SC:III, the story mode was just dire
Black Ops, a lot of people seem to hate it. That, or the people who like it just don't say it as obnoxiously.
WarioWare DIY, I have only found one person other than me who loves that game to death.
Mega Man X7

I'm so, so sorry
I loved Dragon Ball Ultimate Battle 22.

Just saiyan guyz
Dragon Age and Mass Effect series. Some friends of mine simply hate the games. I guess their minds are stuck with the traditional japanese RPGs model and can't understand the inovative design choices BioWare made.

One of them simply implies that Mass Effect has a huge plot hole that breaks everything in the whole trilogy (he says ME1 suggests that Protheans were completely wiped out from existence and then came back in ME3), and won't listen even if I use the best arguments to explain how wrong he is. He's only played part of Mass Effect 2.

Also, they criticise heavily the more action heavy TPS-like Mass Effect gameplay, and make jokes just because I said I'd rather that than modern RPGs that still use numbers, icons and text in battles, resort that developers used as a metaphors to make up for hardware limitations that don't exist anymore.

Why fill the screen with numbers in red to show your character took damage when you can simply make than react to it realistically, like making him groan and bleed, which is far more instinctive signals that something bad is happening?
I'm confused by this thread.

Mass Effect is also widely loved by people.

Am I totally missing the point of this thread?
