Nintendo Global must've made a priority of changing "Ishitsubute" to "Geodude" Tongue
There's a Hiker in Rock Tunnel in Red/Blue FireRed/LeafGreen who will say "Hit me with your best shot!" when he sees you. When beaten he says "Fired away!". This is obviously referencing the song "Hit me with Your Best Shot" by Pat Benatar.

Should we all try and see if we can recall the censorship changes made when Red and Blue were remade? The "No, duh!" one is the Gamblers changed to "Gamers". That was beyond ridiculous when the line "I'm a rambling, gambling dude!" had gamer swapped in instead.

I'm pretty sure more than one Medium got their creepy lines altered, but the one that really sticks out is the one who said "Give... Me... Your... Soul!". "Soul" was changed to "All".

The old man peeking into Erica's gym doesn't give his pervy comment of liking the gym because "It's full of women". Instead he says "Strong trainers".

I don't remember what it was changed to, but I was very disappointed when the Juggler in Kouga's gym didn't say "Dropped my balls!".

Not game related, but you guys might get a kick out of how heavily censored the Electric Tail of Pikachu was when brought to the US. See, for some odd reason the illustrator that was picked happened to do mostly hentai. As a result, massive boobs and revealing clothes were all over the place and obviously touched up for the US release. An entire side story that involved Misty in a hot spring was completely cut.

What's really hilarious is something that slipped through the cracks since whoever the US translator was obviously had not seen enough hentai to know where this was going. There is a newspaper that has an a headline about how a woman would never bathe with her Tentacruel again. Gee... I wonder what happened? ;3

Get your ass on the Boat, beat Gary with his Raticate, rub the captains back, get cut and move on.

Not like this:

Have a friend, let him give you a pokemon with cut and dont even waste a single second on that boat and "change" the story in some ways.

ofc you may say, that this is possible, yes. But the story (Yea Story, kind of) is fixed and you can change it like that in any other game.

Sleepy
Trading has always been part of the game, going on the boat is just one of the few sections that makes optional.

Though if you really want, I guess you could've killed the Rattata, I think you're just injecting GRIM DARK where none exist.

Speaking of Ratta, dunno if it's been mentioned, but in Gold/Silver, there is a trainer named Joey, who claims that his Rattata is "In the top percent of Rattata" . While he doesn't run a FEAR set, if you opened up the game's code, and took a peek at his Rattata's IVs (or did so through the "catch a trainer's Pokemon" cheat and used a calculator.) You would find that his Rattata has an IV spread of 30/31/29/31/26/30 or almost perfect. That's right, his Rattata really IS in the top percent of Rattata.

His name is almost always Andrew, as well. He's quite useful for speed EVs.

Same goes for Pokemon Gold and silver (Dont know about Crystal, but im sure he says that there too) where a Jugler said that.

That dude on the right (Not the Guardian/Police man) said that, when i remember right.

Yea dropping balls is not that good, but speaking of pokemon references, here are some i know.

This one was cracking me up when i played Firered and Leafgreen..
In the Vermilion City Gym, the aide will tell you, before you battle, that you should know, that electric type pokemon are strong against BIRD/WATER pokemon.
Now, there are no Bird type pokemon, except for Missingno in Pokemon Red and Blue wich is a glitch-pokemon.

Also this one was weird, i never understanded the joke but now, when i look back, im like "oh god, why"
In Gen 1 a picnicker in the Rock Tunnel tells you, "Ew! Don´t try anything funny in the dark!"

In HearthGold and SoulSilver in the Team Rocket basement, where the Radio Tower director is hiding, you battle your rival.
When your rival is about to send out his last pokemon, he will say "Hey, hey! Why so serious?".
His last pokemon is a Hunter, so this line works pretty well.
You can say, this line comes straith from the Dark Knight, but its your choice to belive it or not Tongue

Did you know, that in Gold and Silver, evidence exists suggesting that you were supposed to get a skateboard instead of a bike. Incidentally, the manga counterpart of Ethan (the games' protagonist) does use a skateboard.

Later Tongue

There are Flying type Pokemon. They are just Flying/Normal.
(Pidgey line ,Dodrio line etc...)

Do you mean there are no joint Flying/Water? I am sure the aide in Vermillion gym was just stating two types that electric is effective against, as both types are available before the gym.
If not, I am not sure which of the 40 or so Pokemon were taken out. Maybe there was planned a Flying/Water before the gym. Maybe Mantine.

Bird type, not Flying.

Missingno was Bird/water i think but Bird in that was doesnt exists
Well after checking the Vermillion gym aide in Red and in LG.
Red version has: "Birds and Water Pokemon..."
LG version has: "Bird/Water-type Pokemon..."

Probably just an oversight by the programmers. The original wasn't quite as anal about correct terminology

Well you probably already know this but "fag" is an offensive term geared towards homosexual men. The lesbian equivalency would be the word "dike"
Gyarados was originally planned to be a water/dragon type in Red, Blue, and Green. However, due to the fact that Gyarados would have no weakness (dragon rage did fixed damage in RBGY) and the fact that it has very high stats, it would be too broken and powerful. It was changed to a water/flying type before the game's release. This would explain why Gyarados is so dragon-like in appearance and why dragon-type trainers like Lance used it.

In Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, in Area 35 of Mt. Battle, there is a trainer that asks you if you have seen any team that is just like her's. In battle she uses a Cacnea and a Chimecho, which is a clear reference to James in the anime during the Hoenn season, as he used thes ame Pokemon.

Where are your sources on this exactly? I heard of a rumor like this too but that'd be just like saying that Aerodactyl would be a dragon type instead of rock if it wasn't ressurected or that Serperior was originally meant to be the first grass/dragon as well as the first starter dragon but was changed so that it wouldnt be too powerful or so that everyone didnt pick it.
Blue's Eevee in Pokémon Yellow depends on the first two battles with him. Lose both times and it'll evolve into Vaporeon (weak to electric). Win one battle and it'll evolve into Flareon (indifferent to electric). Win both battles and it'll evolve into Jolteon (resistant to electric).

I'd be skeptical of these claims, ONLY BECAUSE Gamefreak doesn't seem like a company to do balance well. (Gen 1 Tauros, Gen 2-3 Snorlax, Stealth Rock, Typhlosion having the same base stats as Charizard, etc.,)

Odd how Gyarados looks more like a dragon than Dragonite. Yet Gyarados has the body of a shrimp.

Never new about Tauros being that good though in Gen 1.
Tauros is the fastest normal type IIRC, and has a pretty good attack. Which means he's the fastest Hyper Beam. If you are playing on the cart and not Pokémon Stadium, you don't recharge if you KO the target. Hyper Beam also has a base power of 150 and halves the targets defense. Factor in the STAB Tauros is receiving and....

EDIT: I also recall that Tauros can learn Earthquake and Swords Dance, which means that the only Pokémon that resisted Hyper Beam (rock and ghost) were weak to the only other move you would need. (Recall Gengar's line is also Poison Type and that there is no levitate at this point.)

SECOND EDIT: This also continues Ash's tradition of catching INCREDIBLY good Pokémon (Tauros, Snorlax, Heracross) and using them rarely even if at all.
