In the original space invaders it is commonly known that the enemy's move faster as time goes on, this was NOT an intended feature, because of the way the game was coded it had to check the state of every invade before it drew the next frame, fewer invaders meant fewer checks before the next frame could be drawn and so the game sped up, this glitch became one of the games defining features and is now specifically programmed into the code in modern remakes.
