You realise project sora isnt sora right?

Project sora was made just for Kid Icarus and has been dissolved now that its done. Probably to move into namco's office to make smash bros because Sora, Sakurais parent of that team still exists.

Lol hardly an ass of yourself. Honest mistake especially with the wording of that article. I only know because i pay way too close attention to game related things.

So what does this mean for Smashbros ?

It means that Smash Bros. is just a work outside of the creators own studio. Just like it has always been like.

You guys don't have to worry about Smash Bros. The same guy as always is behind it and Nintendo has always made this an important point of the game developement. They don't let anyone work on games like these (even the new Super Mario and Zelda guys had to spend like 15-20 years in training).

Smash Bros. literally prints them money so Japan would have to sink before they stopped making this game.

I just want to add that I just found out that Project Sora only purpose was to create the new Kid Icarus game. So it would probably shut down sooner or later anyway.

I'm still bummed from the fact that I need to buy the Wii U (what a TERRIBLE name) for the new Smash Bros. game ._.

The DS would suck since they would have to cut down on so much content.. Smash Bros. is all about getting more content in every game!

They are going to make a 3DS version for the new Smash Bros. Nintendo has been really quiet about how the two of them will interract though..

I'd make a guestimate that you'd have functionality along the lines of:
Using the 3DS as a controller seeing how the WiiU has a screen controller and the 3DS can be used the same (both with touch functionality).
Or similar to Jump Super/Ultimate Stars where you can activate certain attacks by pressing screen icons/panels.
