I use FRAPS to record my games from the PC and it does the job very well. It does require a lot of the CPU and GPU though, so you need a good graphics car dand good processor to record games in max settings in the case that they're already intensive hardware demanding.
For editing I use Adobe Premiere, which, I pirated it (since it's too freaking expensive) but it has to be one of the most versatile editors out there making it possible for you to do anything with your video (except heavy speciall effects, that's fo After Effects). It's really a handful.

It is more than likely a DVC150 or DVC100. If it's matte gray/silver then you more than likely have the DVC150 (and it came with Pinnacle Studio 11). If it's black then it's the DVC100 (and it came with Pinnacle Studio 15). There is a white model floating around, I believe that is the "DVD" capture device. Not sure on the number.

http://www.pinnaclesys.com you can download updated drivers for any device they sell. Try updating the drivers and see if that makes a difference.
Also, speaking of drivers, I noticed there was a compatibility error with Windows 7 and the DVC150, it took some additional installation of drivers and stuff to get it to work. It also would not work on my Windows 7 laptop at all (it would just mess up the CD drive).
I just took at look at it and it was a gray/silver one so I guess we probably have the DVC150. We're going to take a closer look to the drivers and see if there might be a driver problem.
Compatibility problem with Win7 might be hassle though.. I'll see what we can do to fix that.

I eventually got mine to work by updating the drivers. Install them as you normally would with the CD, then go here to this website and download the Windows 7 update for the DVC150:

Then plug in the Dazzle and start up the Studio program. Theoretically, it SHOULD now detect the Dazzle input on your Windows 7 computer.
For editing, I personally use Sony Vegas 9 and After Effects CS4 (can't go up to 5 because I have a 32-bit system).
Should probably switch to Premiere Pro because I expect it ties into after effects nicely
