1. Meh, the U.S. will be involved in another pointless war by then, probably with Syria, we'll be excited for the next big console, we'll still be playing Smash Bros Wii U, and people will either be dead or really stupid.
2. I think the possibility exists, although releasing it to the public would be cataclysmic.
