That's how you spell it in at least 1 language.
I held off from talking in this post till I found out what "ghurt" was as well. Thanks to Snake3324 being brave enough to ask a question I was too scared to. +1 rep.

Yoghurt is how it's spelt in the glorious crown lands of Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith.

Yogurt is how the secessionist infidels of America and the not-so-secessionist badasses of Canada spell it.
Don't be making fun of us 'mericans. >_<
No offense, but he can make fun of the US all he pleases. The country does suck, after all. I prefer Canada, but only because they got a leaf on their flag.
How long have we been spelling Yoghurt with a "h"? What?

Edit 1:
I'm confused

Edit 2: Wait wait hold up a second. OK so, it's spelled Yoghurt in the U.K, so then why is spelled different on mine? Is it because they're French? But if they're French then why are they Wal-Mart branded?

Edit 3: Wait so if it's Wal-mart, then that's American right? They don't use the H. But still.... these are made in the U.K....but they're French

Edit: 4 I don't really know what to say now. My life...

Edit 5: Nevermind, they tasted like shit.
That last edit...perfect.

Hahahahaha

But theriously sough, the OED says it's yoghurt. As a legit Frenchman, I can tell you that most of things branded "French" are about as French as chips'n'gravy. It's pure marketing.

Most likely, as you say, the branding is based off America. That, or yogurt is being used more and more nowadays. Who knows

EDIT - Can't speak English apparently...
I like how this went into a weird direction about yogurt and how to spell it.
