C'mon, guys! Learning a language is cool! You get to know a new culture more intimately and discover new ways to see the world around you. You literally can get smarter just from learning a language!

I study languages mostly because I love to. And secondly because I intend to become a professional translator. But I would study a language just for fun, without a practical use, like latin or quenya or sindarin, just because they're cool.

I speak English (obviously). But the only language I learned/self taught was Japanese (I can recommend books). Studied German and French when I was younger and learned the basics stuck but, I didn't find myself having a huge interest in it so I took it upon myself to speak Japanese. Would love to learn Portuguese though!

*claps hands once* Welp, time to get started! =P

I'm currently learning American Sign Language. I would like to learn Farsi or Russian. That would be awesome
I speak English and Spanish. I would like to learn Korean.
I want to learn french, japanese, and gaeilge.
Want to learn:
Hindi
Japanese
Russian
Korean
German
Spanish (several different dialects)
Irish

Probably will actually make an effort to learn at some point:
Spanish
Japanese
Hindi (maybe)
I was thinking about creating a little language course here. The language would be that of more interest among the members, and depending on how the project would develop, would take several threads. What do you think?
