Skill: Graphic Design, Level Designer
Work: Create characters, levels, anything graphic design related really!
Idea: So far I have created a concept for an unnamed Ninja - [Image: 2z3v1ci.png]

Alright, from here I think we should get a little more organized, just to see exactly what we can do here. How's about everyone who wants to be involved make a reply with the following format:
SKILL/S: What you can do to contribute to the project
WORKS: If you have any examples or creations using the previously listed skill/s, link them here
IDEAS: Any ideas or concepts for the game you have

Just trying to see what we have to work with here, seems like we could use a programmer or two :/
Well I think first order of business would be to correct the spelling of the thread since collaborate is spelt 'Collaborate' not 'Collaberate' Wink
Agreed, types this on my phone without Auto correct originally, so there goes my forum spelling award.
Skill: Idea-man. Level Design.
Work: Lots of experience creating dungeons in RPGmaker and tabletop DND. Created an entire module (story, creature design, setting design, character design) for tabletop DND.
Idea: Multiple levels, each with a different theme, gameplay style, art style, and music style. I'll see if I can come up with a list of gameplay styles matched with different themes.
Make a character that uses poisons and gasses and stuff :3

Let me guess name him 'Scormac'? Tongue
Skill: All around (I can help in anyhting if asked as long as I'm able to do it)
Work: I tend to be a inspired guy, so I can have lots of ideas as for characters, level design, etc. (although I cannot put them in practice as I lack the drawing skills.)

Idea: We were discussing earlier for the game to have multiple modes (such as one session is side-scrolling, then FPS, RPG, well, you get the idea, multiple mechanics) and we basically put them together accordingly to what we do and what we plan it to be (if the game will have different sessions with differnet modes of if we're gonna put them all together for the enhancement of gameplay and/or puzzle solving)

I think that I can think of some things if someones gives me a starting point, but other than that I can test the game Big Grin
Skill: I can help with story boarding and story creation.
Work: Aside from what I mentioned above, I think I'd just give input and beta test, because I'm not so great at concept art or music making.
Idea: Well, I was thinking we'd all have our own characters in the game, assuming the work force is small enough that we could actually make enough levels for us to have our own. But, if we couldn't do that, I'd say it'd be best to have one main protagonist, maybe a few sub characters, like two or three, to fill out the RPG sections of the game.

I was thinking either have multiple characters to choose from as the main protagonist, and then have each place (or website, if we're sticking with that idea) have its own little cast of characters, and have maybe 1 or 2 of them work with the protagonist for just that level (or stick with him, and create an entourage of possible characters). The first would be like Kingdom Hearts, the second would be like Chrono Trigger (from what I've played of it)

Elaborate on what you mean by this please?

In Kingdom Hearts, the player travels around with 2 permanent party members that he can (almost always) use, regardless of where he is. In addition to that, the player also has a 3rd party member that is dependent on which world he is in. (When he is in the Pride Lands {from The Lion King}, the player can have Simba in his party rather than Goofy or Donald. When the player is in Olympus Coliseum, the player can have Hercules in his party rather than Goofy and Donald, but Simba is completely off-limits because the player is no longer in the Pride Lands).

In Chrono Trigger, as the player travels to different time periods, they start picking up different characters (In the future, the player gets a huge robot that joins his party, while in the prehistoric times, an amazon-ish woman joins the party). These party members stay with the player no matter where he goes, and the number of available party members grows.

I think he means something like the mechanic of the game (Kingdom Hearts being Real-Action RPG and Chrono Trigger being a Turn-Based RPG)

Yeah, I'm just confused by your "first" and "second."

Well, what I thought was to use 1 main character :I. In a game like this, it seems like it,s going to be tough having side-characters.

BUT, what we can do is having the choice of different main characters. Like a little, normal boy, or a cute girl, or a black, retarted douchebag. And all of them would have a different ability in each of the levels (Normal Guy: Sword; Girl: Guns; Douchebag: Flame-thrower). See what I mean?
Well, for it to be a good game, we need to have a good story, and to have a good story, we need depth, to have depth, we need characters meaning more than one. So even if it will be hard, I vote we go with main protagonist and like 2 permanent side characters. Now, that doesn't mean we couldn't have a level specific character, like in Chrono Trigger, in the past, it's Frog, but in the future, it's the Robot.
