It does taste similar but nowhere near the same taste as regular bacon (or at least regular for me I have no idea if Canadian bacon is normal in Canada and regular old bacon is American bacon but maybe I'm just over thinking this.)

Dude Mr. Holmes you have no idea how bothered I was when I saw I was thanked for a post and then couldn't find which one it was until now noticing it was you on my oath...I searched for a good 40 minutes man, my OCD side was like whispering at the back of my mind "Dude you gotta find that post, you have to know who thanked you!"

Canadian bacon is called "Back Bacon" in Canada, It's essentially the bonless center chop you can buy a meat store but cured, normal bacon is called "Side belly" or "Side pork" if it isn't cured, there just different parts of the pig but cured and called bacon.
In Canada regular bacon is still far more popular then back bacon.
I'm a canadian and a butcher btw, haha.
