Ai no uta was a song shown in Pikmin trailers in japan, you couldn't hear it outside of the internet in America except for one way...

In pikmin 2, If you gather 20 of each Pikmin species, they will hum a verse of Ai no Uta.

The song became extremely popular in Japan and even outsold Pikmin itself.

Its also a song in SSBB. Anyway the Lyrics are a little bit disturbing:

For us it is a lovely song but for the Japanes this sounds depressing as hell
The pikmin are completely resigned to their fate of their inevitable deaths. They come into life, completely and totally aware of their expendable nature, resigned to their fate, knowing they'll never know love.

I think they hum a different theme if you do the same thing in a cave. I'll have to check.

There are two easter eggs regarding music: when 20 Pikmin of each type are together, they might hum part of Ai No Uta. The second egg is triggered when a cave is completed for the first time; the player must wait for around two minutes on the results screen, and Totaka's song will play.
