I'm actually a cat person. Not because I hate dogs or anything like that, my stepmother is a huge cat person.

Does anyone know how to record stuff from a tv to a computer?

For gaming, a capture card.
For TV shows, a DVR/PVR. A lot of TVs now have a USB PVR with them for you to record shows.
