In The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, you acquire a red tunic that lets you explore areas of intense heat (We've all played the game, I shouldn't have to tell you). However, many fans often claim that the Tunic gives an extra defense against fire or spikes and such. This actually isn't true. You get no more defense from this as you do from the Zora Tunic or the Kokiri Tunic.

I'm only submitting this because it's a big myth that's been going on for years, and I think telling a few users should clear things up. Even the Zelda Wiki states the tunic gives an increase in defense (though that's not a very good Wiki anyways, the point still stands).
I've never heard anyone ever make this assumption before. I thought everyone knew that the Goron tunic was only able to allow Link to withstand the intense heat inside the Death Mountain crater and Fire Temple.

Wikis aren't always known to be reliable and no matter how well written an article may be, you should always treat it with a grain of salt. Unless the statement is accompanied with a link to a reliable source, then I'd recommend going straight to the source rather than relying solely on the wiki article.

No, the goron tunic does give you more defence against fire and spikes. My dad works for Nintendo, and he told me it was true.

My Dad gave me Pikablu and Mewthree. But I can't prove it so you'll just have to believe me.
Actually it doesn't give you MORE defense you just don't take damage every single second you're standing in it, you take damage like every 3-5 seconds instead and it only works with lava that doesn't auto kill you like the lava in death mountain crater or ganon's castle fire section does.
