I've noticed that there isn't a single piece of World of Warcraft DYKG on here. Just wondering if it's a lack of DYK's or just you guys don't like wow.
Maybe because no one really has posted anything yet, why not do that instead of question things?
I agree with Xannidel - if you have an interesting piece of worthy WoW trivia, feel free to post it over at the "Submit a Did You Know" section
World of Warcraft nowadays is essentially a sequence of popular culture references loosely held together by a thin story consisting of Alliance vs Horde, unless there's some big threat to Azeroth (like there is every expansion) and then they put aside their differences and fight it before returning to fight each other.

You could talk about all the stuff in the Beta, like Mage Lockpicking for example, but nearly everything in WoW is trivia so it's a bit too easy I guess.
All the dances are all part of different cultures.

In pre Cata in the Barens there was a ghost NPC ontop of a hill and that was a reference to a developer (I believe) who passed on

There is a mount that kael'Thas drops that was created for a little boy from the make-a-wish foundation...i think

In the Tauren starting area there is a cliff and on that cliff are a bunch of npc critters and if you let them go on their daily business then some of them suddenly grow a bit bigger and wear helmets and get weapons and duel.

The giant goblin statue in Booty Bay is filled with treasure

I am pretty sure some quest names are also references.

They got rid of his grave? That's downright disrespectful. When I played, I made a note to visit that, even with my alliance characters.
I have no idea if they did that in Cata or not because the barens changed so much. If you can find where he was originally and take a look around those same coordinates not then you MIGHT find the tomb still there. I have no idea though. They might have re located the grave somewhere else.
