It's finally upon us - the final celebration before the world ends for anyone who hasn't bought a 2013 calendar.

So what's everyone up to for christmas (or general festivities for those who don't do christmas) ?


I'm not flying back to Europe for christmas this year. Not enough holidays to warrant an eight hour flight (sadface). Still, I've received presents by mail that are currently under the christmas tree so I cannae' wait til the 25th

Outside also looks very much like christmas, about 75cms (30 inches) of good snow that'll stay over christmas. I've got my food ready to cook on the 25th and my family a Skype-call away in their respective parts of the world. All is good !


Bonus fun fact - This morning, there was a 66 degree celsius (151 fahrenheit) difference between where I live, and where my parents live

I'm going back to Ireland after christmas (plane tickets are too pricey if I go in the 24th or 25th). Other than that, I'll just drink a lot and enjoy the holidays. XD

Been spending a few weeks at my parents new house, which is a mere 2 hours away, and I really can't wait go back home. (Their internet connection makes me super-sad. )

Been staying here with my mom while my aunt and great aunt drive down until sometime in January, been looking forward to this!

This year just don't feel like Christmas to me.

Not even excited.

And no, I'm not being melodramatic, I just don't really feel excited for it, the last two Christmas's I had were decent, but this year just don't feel right.

I don't even know if I'm getting anything.

But I love Christmas! But only because of the actual meaning of it.

What if Santa never shows up to save christmas....

These damn holidays seem to be cursed. Nowadays I end up having crappiest time of my life at this time of the year. For this reason, I literally sleep through these days.

This is usually my favorite time of year. I love all things Christmas. I love buying gifts for people, wrapping them, and watching them open them. It makes me feel good. I also love decorating. I moved back in with my parents for a little while waiting for my new apartment to become available, so I've been kind of out of my element. I can't find all my stuff since everything I own is packed up.

But my mom did let me put up my tree, which looks hilariously small in her giant dining room. I still wish I had my own space this year to do all my wrapping. I got used to spreading all of my stuff out so I could see everything and choose what paper/ribbon/bows I wanted (I take wrapping very seriously) but mom was not all about that.

Also, everything was so rushed this year. We already have a lot of birthdays this time of year, but also my cousin was pregnant (she now has a healthy baby girl!) and her sister is getting married in January and I am in the wedding, and I am planning the bachelorette party. So I've been trying my best not to gain weight (keep in mind, I am from the south, and it's the holiday season) so I can fit in that dress, which has been stressing me out.

Also, there's a rumor in the weather world that it might SNOW here on Christmas!

Christmas is the greatest holiday, because of the actual meaning. And the presents. I don't like the part where I have to be with my whole family, because I am an introvert. I'm not saying that I hate being with my family.

Thank you! And it's my cousin and HER sister, I am actually the only girl on my end haha. Only two little brothers here. But we have my aunt and uncle and their 3 daughters come over, with their 3 husbands and 9 total grandkids!

I am kind of an introvert as well for the most part, but for some reason when it's Christmas I just bust out. Maybe because of my aunts 9 grandkids. I just adore kids!
