Even if you split it up in favorite per genre of gaming it would still be to hard for me to tell also there are so many by now

yeah, i know it's quite hard to answer. To me, one of my favourite games to play is NBA 2K12, but i wouldn't consider it BEST game ever, because there are some issues. At the same time, i also like Final Fantasy VII, which i consider to be one of the best games ever.
