The character, Adon (from the first Street Fighter, the Street Fighter Alpha series, and Super Street Fighter IV) used to be Sagat's pupil. After Sagat lost to Ryu in the first Street Fighter tournament, Adon was in disbelief from his teacher, and thus left Sagat.

The character Birdie (first Street Fighter, Street Fighter Alpha series) was introduced as a white person. However, after he showed up in the Alpha series, he was changed to a black person. There is a win quote in Street Fighter Alpha 3, in which he says he was "pale" was because he was "sick."

On the topic of Birdie; there is a character named Eagle in the Street Fighter series also. Eagle was introduced in first Street Fighter game, but hasn't been in any other Street Fighter game besides Street Fighter Alpha 3 for the GBA and PSP. Both Eagle and Birdie are British. And both names are golf puns.

In Street Fighter Alpha 3, the character portrait of Zangief has blood spewing out of a vein on the top of his head. This was censored in the American version of the game.

some of Dudley's moves are inspired by the anime Hajime No Ippo, like his first Ultra (Rolling Thunder) makes use of the Dempsey Roll.
