First and foremost, I'm a metal-head. Except for all that screamo/emo crap.(A few bands I enjoy - Blind Guardian, King Diamond, Lizzy Borden, W.A.S.P., GWAR, Slayer, Leaves Eyes, Helloween etc.)
90's alternative is pretty great - Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, Soundgarden, Collective Soul, Econoline Crush etc.
I also enjoy 'classic rock' such as KISS, Deep Purple, Nazareth, David Lindley etc.
Classical is great, as is blues and jazz. No complaints against those genres.
I'm not really much for the country, except Johnny Cash and a bit of Kenny Rogers.
As for rap/hip-hop I'm not a fan, except for Swollen Members and Wu-Tang Clan.

I like to listen to retro gametracks like megaman 2
Skimming through my iTunes I'll give a basic idea of my tastes. Not including: Mass Effect1/2 OS, Majora's Mask OS, Morrowind OS, various Pokemon tunes, Dragon Quest orchestra, FFX/FFX-II OS, and lots of retro stuff from Nintendo days.

Celtic music is by far my favorite. I absolutely love it.
Other than that, I really like rock, techno, and some pop. I despise rap, and dislike most country.
Sooooooooo much. Rock, hiphop (both old and new), electro, french house, indie, experimental stuff (Flying Lotus, Shlohmo etc.), jazz, blues, folk, classical, and a shit load of weird sub-genres I don't even know the names of.
