On this other forum that I am on, they have this 'Gaming News' section where you post news about games that will be released/working on/announced etc.

I know about the Gaming Discussion sub-thread area but I think that the idea I suggested needs it's own section under the 'Gaming' category.

On the same forum, they also have a "Not so General Chatter" section which is unrelated to gaming. The said section has the following sub-sections:

News/Politics
Food & Drink
Health & Fitness
Sports
Technology
Music
Anime
TV & Movies.

All of that can be packed into one Section.

It's a bit difficult wording this out so sorry if you don't have a clear understanding.
I like the "Gaming News" section idea. If someone have information nobody else have, it could be awesome to know!

On an other note, I think we could also use the idea for multiple sections in the "Not so General Chatter", but I think the thread SHOULD involve around videogames. After all, this is a website about games, so if we make threads that are unrelated to them... I think it would be kinda wrong in some way.
The internet is a huge place. There are lots of forums and communities to talk about almost everything, yet why is it always that we want a forum that specializes in something to also incorporate some kind of area where that can be discussed. Is it that some users are planning to camp here for months at a time and need somewhere to vent steam when they get tired of video game rants?

At most, if its going to be implemented, I'd suggest one and only one forum for that. No sub-forums. Just one general video game free talk forum.
Making a lot of new forums categories are REALLY dangerous at new forums because they make every part of the forum look very inactive.

It's a lot better to create new categories as the forum grows. So the ones we have looks really active since that looks attractive for new memebers.

So your suggestions are probably very good for future references.
Nuudoru's idea is solid. Less forums means less to focus on and less time to navigate and see what's around. Also gives room for more eye catch.
