I'm back, this time, expanding my knowledge to the Marioverse, not just Pokemon!

The beta versions of Super Mario 3D Land had a Golden Tanooki Goomba appearing, marking it's first appearance before Super Mario Bros 2. It didn't drop more coins, as far as my knowledge goes, but it did jump farther than a regular Tanooki Goomba.

Please tell me the link works, damn 3DS doesn't have Copy/Paste.
I'm not sure if this has been submitted already but King Boo clearly used to be Big Boo after the release of Super Mario 64 DS has shown us. In order to rescue Luigi you don't have to go through a seperate passageway to rescue them like Mario and Wario, you go through them from the level Big Boo's Haunt. Only Mario is able to save Luigi however, as Yoshi cannot punch during the boss battle and you need Luigi to unlock Wario. "Big Boo" is wearing a crown this time unlike in the normal level and also has King Boo's cackles. Your also forced to fight him as Mario in order to rescue Luigi thus setting up the events for Luigi's Mansion and future games where he antagonizes Mario(Such as Super Mario Sunshine and Super Princess Peach), however other people believe that this guy is a different King Boo, as the one in Luigi's Mansion is smaller has a blue tongue, has red eyes, and a different red ruby crown. He also has a connections with playing cards and also appears in Sunshine in a casino at the slot machines. At the end of Luigi's Mansion he sucks up King Boo and takes his ruby crown as a prize. He than deposits King Boo into a portrait who appears with the crown still on alongside the Bowser suit. This parts confusing as a fortune telling ghost implies that Bowser died at the end of SM64 and that King Boo was controlling the suit that was actually his body which is further implied by the suit being present in his portrait. All this is confusing some say he escaped the portrait and without the ruby crown he got a normal one which made him look more like a normal Boo. I like to just think Nintendo didnt give two shits.

Should be fixed.
In the Famicom logo makes a cameo.Have you ever wondered what that red, blue, green, and yellow symbol is at the top of the Special World's map? It's a Super Famicom logo. They were also based on the colored buttons of the Japanese Super Famicom controllers, but they were changed to light and dark purple for the American version.

hey, after the million "new" brand on mario, im confused as hell.
Did you know? In Super Mario Bros. 3, it is much easier to fall into the bottomless pit on levels with sloped terrain than levels without sloped terrain.

This is because the collision detection on levels with sloped terrain is tweaked to disallow toe-holds, which would make Mario momentarily appear to be walking on air whenever he would walk from a flat surface onto a downward slope.

The world 5-2 in Super Mario 3D Land is heavily inspired by Zelda. In fact, there is a room where you have to light four torches in order to unlock a door. When the door opens, the secred music from Zelda is played.

Holy crap - This is excellent Big Grin

We've been indoctrinated all of our lives
In the original Mario Party for the N64, there was a slight change made to both Luigi and Wario's dialogue. In the Western release (PAL and NTSC), when either of the two would lose in any sort of way either by losing coins, stars or mini-games, they would utter the line "D'oh I missed!".

However in the original Japanese release, the line said was "Oh my god!". In both of these videos, you'll hear the original lines from the Japanese version.

It's unknown why this change was made, probably to remove anything that would've been considered blasphemous.
Eeyup, KnowledgeBase. One of Nintendo's rules is, for western releases I guess, that no rl-regilious symbols may appear in the games. The only symbol, Nintendo didn't recognize, could be the christian cross on Link's very first shield.
