Anyone try the demo yet?
I just did Leon's part and I enjoyed it very much. The controls felt MUCH better than they did in RE5 (Which is essentially what turned me off of RE5).
Never touched Resident Evil 5 nor 6 yet, will download it now.
Oh man I love the RE series. I love how Capcom took the feedback of the first demo and used it for demo 2. No bloody scree-tearing. No horrid camera controls. Changing Chris's camera angle. Changing the HUDs. Adding ability to take cover and the graphics looks slightly better too. Good stuff Capcom.
It just sucks that multiplayer (I mean really Capcom? Multiplayer on a FRANCHISE that has been pure solo game with the excception of 5 being co-op?) is going to cost money, or maybe it is just the maps that are buyable dlc.
I've not tried the demo. It looks good. It can't be worse than the original RE games though! Seriously, d'you want to go back to getting used to the different controls for EVERY SINGLE SCREEN? RE5 was alright, aside from the annoying AI. Multiplayer seems like a fine idea to me.
Ok so I made a "small" review over Leon and Chris's story (not the other guy) but that will be tomorrow soooo here we go!
Okay guys this is sort of long but this is my opinion on Resident Evil 6 demo (Please not I did not play all 3 characters, just Leon and Chris's story. Also there are bound to be mistakes so please don't be too critical about those but do point them out and if I said anything incorrectly please let me know. Thank you ^^
Okay so I played only Leon and Chris's demo and I gotta say that I have mixed feelings for this.
Leon's story seems to suit those who enjoy zombies and what not because it was very atmospheric and the graphics reflected that really well while Chris's seems to suit those who prefer more of an action game with zombies being replaced with armed asshats that I could care less about with a huge "B.O.W.
" with an obvious weakness on it's back that you couldn't miss it if you were blind! I do not remember the other player you can play as but that will wait for tomorrow so I will try that person.
Now for the things I liked: I did like the walking WHILE aiming, a big plus for those people who played the other games and wished that was in those games. I also liked how you could have your AI friends help out if you were in trouble so I gotta give Capcom some props for giving us DECENT AI partners that do shit. The graphics were amazingly nice for a Resident Evil title and yes I do say that in a good way.
Now for the things I did not like: The darkness in Leon's story was BS because it blended the zombies so well that I could not see shit! Next the zombies who hit me seemed to know a nice chunk of my HP so any pills that I ate (Yeah that's your herbs for you) and then got hit by a zombie, it brought me right back to red. Next, the lack of herbs in your "inventory" I was to believe that herbs in this game will be just like RE:ORC where they are used automatically while first aid sprays are situational items. Ammo is EVERYWHERE! This is meant to be survival horror right? Why they give me so much ammo and ELIMINATE the horror aspect. Running is also game breaking because I can just RUN from everyone and not give a shit. I did not like the "BOW" fight because the weakness was so damn obvious where as a COMMON ENEMY like the regenerators had those hidden weaknesses that you had to use the infered scope to find the weaknesses. WHY CAN'T THAT BE IN THIS AS WELL!?
For now that is all I can think of, will play Jake (I think that is his name) tomorrow and put some more thought into this because this was all just rushed out without really thinking.
*Edit*
Forgot to add that zombies can carry AND use weapons like an axe and what not. That I feel is a good thing because it makes them more intimidating and the girl partner in Leon's story grabbed an axe out of a zombies hand and chopped it down. That is pretty darn awesome in my books.
I did Chris' and Jake's story earlier and I enjoyed both.
Jakes will be more challenging as I can tell already and Chris' will be more about not getting shot by the enemies. More like a TPS.
I like it. I'm actually very surprised at this since the last RE game I played in full was RE2 (never got around to actually playing 4 Resident Evils and I tried 5 and hated it).
Resident Evil 4 was really good, yes it did not have zombies in it but that was because they were experimenting with stuff and they were really not that bad changes.

RE5 had multiplayer though. Versus multiplayer called Slayers and Survivors. Loved it.
I like Chris's gameplay. You take a few shots and get knocked to the ground. I'm glad they stayed with health bars than the screen turning red.
