Not sure if anyone has posted this here yet. I put this up on Reddit back on July 28.

DYKG wants Mario trivia so here's some.

Apparently, Mario Kart Double Dash's Rainbow Road track is right above Mushroom City, another track in the game.



Cool, init?

Is this something that's purposely stated or displayed in the game?

It's just displayed in the game, but it looks like the same city to me. Building designs are the same.


Something else interesting to note is that on Rainbow Road, players can see clouds reflected on the track, yet no clouds appear in the sky.

Maybe Mario had an accident while switching drivers and is now in a coma.We always knew Mario was losing some nuts the day when super mario bros. 2 came out.

Or they are all high doing shrooms.

Well, I'd have to take a closer look to see if it's exactly the Mushroom City TRACK, and not just other parts of Mushroom City. But it looks like it, anyway.

Or are you asking if the game already makes it obvious that you're racing above Mushroom City? I mean, when I played this game, I didn't realize it at first. All the lights below kinda just looked like stars to me so I never really focused on it. Then I got a closer look and figured it out. I didn't notice any sign that said Mushroom City.

I didn't realize this either and I thought it was interesting. Deserves a DYKG post

It's funny how we didn't realize that.

Decided to save this for a video. I don't see how I could make it seem interesting within the confines of a single image post.

Mario Kart video or Mario video in general? I might be able to find more Mario Kart trivia...

This trivia in specific reminds me of the SSB trivia featuring reflections on, I think, Metal Mario or something.

Probably Mario Kart, or possibly Mario spin-offs. I have a fair amount of Mario Kart trivia.
