Not to be confused with Chris Angel's television show, Mind Freak.

No, I'm talking about movies, people. Movies that are psychologically mind-fuckingly fantastic. If that makes sense. I don't know the best way to describe what a mind-fuck actually is, so I'll just give examples of Mind-Fuck movies I've seen.

(1971) A Clockwork Orange
(1993) Needful Things
(1995) Se7en
(1998) Pi
(1998) American History X
(1999) Fight Club
(1999) The Sixth Sense
(2000) Memento
(2001) Donnie Darko
(2001) Vanilla Sky
(2001) A Beautiful Mind
(2003) Confidence
(2003) Oldboy
(2004) The Butterfly Effect
(2005) Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
(2005) Hard Candy
(2006) Lucky Number Slevin
(2006) Big Nothing
(2006) The Prestige
(2006) The Illusionist
(2008) In Bruges
(2008) Bronson
(2009) The Disappearance of Alice Creed
(2010) Black Swan
(2010) Super
(2011) Sucker Punch
(2011) Unknown
(2011) Red State

(Dates are included because this list was copied from a document of mine)
So I think you should kind of get the idea, right? Well, this thread is to discuss these movies.
Pretty much every Twilight Zone. "People Are Alike All Over" or "And When the Sky Was Opened" have some of the craziest twists.
Does Jacob's Ladder count? I thought that movie did a pretty good job screwing with you until the end.

Please don't ask me "is this movie a mind fuck?", "does this movie count?". I'm not the high lord of all that is mind fucks. Yes Jacobs Ladder counts. You don't need me to tell you. If you think it's a mind fuck, it's a mind fuck in its own right, even if some people disagree.

Wow. Yikes. OK.

*ahem* I say Jacob's ladder since at least I was pretty in the dark as to what was happening since it kept switching scenarios on you.

Even watching it again I didn't really pick up on too many hints. I was wondering if anyone else was a bit confused by it as well.
Has anyone seen the recent horror (i think thats what they were going for??) movie called The Cabin in The Woods.

My mind was in pure fuckery the entire time...and left me saying "well that escalated rather quickly". I never want to watch it again, it was terrible xD

Yeah, that's what it's called. I thought about seeing it, but then passed after I read the review and just decided to read a spoiler filled plot outline over it because it sounded stupid and yet I was still curious.

Sorry you actually sat through the darn thing!
I'll probably watch it. I don't let reviews or opinions ruin my own personal experience for movies, I like to make my own opinions about them.

I'm normally on your side with this but with the price of movies nowadays, and how more often than not I end up really disappointed, I usually just wait for rental or even TV. Especially horror movies have ended up being a total waste when I've gone to see them.

What? That was EASILY one of the best movies of the year! What are you guys talking about bad reviews? 90-fucking-percent on Rotten Tomatoes!!!!

Sorry, I get a little jumpy when people claim an amazing movie is bad. I saw Cabin twice and loved every second of it.
Anyone else seen The Disappearance of Alice Creed? If so, what are your thoughts?

I didn't understand why the reviews for it were so high. I guess it just wasn't my thing and I respect that you enjoyed it...but you can't deny that it was a bit of a mindfuck. However, I did enjoy the stoner character (I forgot his name). He was hilarious.
Spirited Away.
